PREVIEW: The Los Angeles Clippers and Charlotte Hornets, both sitting at 4-11, will tip off at 1:00 p.m. EST from Spectrum Center in Charlotte. Los Angeles has lost three in a row and is 1-9 in the last 10 games, while Charlotte is trying to break its own four-game losing streak. The Clippers will be without Bradley Beal due to a season-ending hip surgery, forcing the team to lean too heavily on James Harden to carry their offense. The Clippers rank first in post-up shot frequency and third in free throw shooting at 83.1 percent, but they also rank 25th in passing ability with lots of isolations and 27th in turnover rate. The Hornets have performed much better at home with a 3-4 record, defeating the Nets, Jazz and Bucks at Spectrum Center this season. Charlotte will welcome Brandon Miller back to the lineup after missing 13 games with a shoulder injury. On the defensive end, Charlotte ranks fourth in limiting three-point attempts and fourth in defensive rebounding, but the team struggles with attacking the rim on offense at rank 24. The rebounding battle will be crucial, as Charlotte possesses a strength in that area while the Clippers lack athleticism on the boards outside of Ivica Zubac, whose bench unit becomes a real liability when he sits.
