Sacramento Kings vs New Orleans Pelicans
PREVIEW: The Sacramento Kings will host the New Orleans Pelicans in a matchup between two of the league's most struggling franchises. The Kings remain the worst team in the Western Conference with just 14 wins and 49 losses , while the Pelicans sit in 13th place with a record of 19 wins and 44 losses. The Pelicans have significantly improved their level of play lately and managed to secure several surprising victories, posting a record of six wins and four losses in the last 10 games. The Kings have lost 18 of their last 20 games , a stark contrast that sets the stage for this encounter at the Golden 1 Center.
The Pelicans won the first head-to-head meeting this season against the Kings with a convincing 120-94 victory. Both sides tend to focus more on offense and play an attack-oriented style of basketball, and with no real pressure on them, defensive effort is unlikely to be at a high level. The Kings will be without Zach LaVine, Domantas Sabonis, Keegan Murray, Dylan Cardwell, and De'Andre Hunter , while Dejounte Murray is out for the Pelicans and Trey Murphy and Zion Williamson are questionable. Three of the NBA's most productive rookies seek to improve their awards credentials as the Pelicans' Derik Queen and Jeremiah Fears, and the Kings' Maxime Raynaud look to continue recent form that has vaulted all three into contention for NBA All-Rookie honors.
