Both squads are limping into this Western Conference matchup with identical 5-14 records, though their struggles stem from different sources. The Mavericks continue to struggle on the offensive side of the ball, scoring just 105.4 points per 100 possessions (30th in the NBA) on 52.3% shooting from inside the arc (tied for 24th) and 31.8% from beyond the 3-point line (29th). The Clippers have been terrible on the defensive side of the ball, surrendering 121.0 points per 100 possessions (25th in the NBA) on 54.7% shooting from inside the arc (13th) and 38.9% from beyond the arc (28th).
James Harden tallies 27.9 points and 8.4 assists per game, while Ivica Zubac posts 16.6 points and 11.5 rebounds a night. Rookie Cooper Flagg remains the Mavericks' top performer in the 2025-26 season, averaging 15.9 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. The Mavericks are still missing Kyrie Irving, Dante Exum and Dereck Lively II, while the Clippers have ruled out Bogdan Bogdanovic, Derrick Jones Jr and Bradley Beal once again. It's the back end of a back-to-back set for both teams, with the Mavericks possibly getting Anthony Davis back, while the Clippers could decide to rest Kawhi Leonard.
